Support Cast's Age Troubles on Bade Acche Lagte hai
But there's something they just can't help commenting on and that's got to do with the supporting cast. Ram and Sakshi are not the conventional couple, but that works, given the storyline. What doesn't is that her father in the serial looks young enough to be her husband (or perhaps she looks old enough to be his wife!). His onscreen wife (Renuka Israni) also looks far older than him. Now Renuka has a mother who, despite the grey wig, looks as old as her, if not younger! Basically this grandmother has to be minimum 70 years old in the serial, but she looks and acts like someone half that age!
Ram's family too has its share of age trouble. His mother (Eva Grover) looks young, but that's alright because she is his step-mother and by that parameter, can look any age. But she has a brother (Deepak Qazir) who can easily pass off as her father!
The support cast for any serial is crucial. Bade Achhe, with its different storyline, has come like a breath of fresh air and we hope with the help of makeup and whiteners the creative team at least now manages to get their act together.
