Suits Season 1 Episode 8 Identity Crisis Previews

Summary :

As Harvey's history starts to create some complications, Mike faces off against Devon in a mock trial. One of Manhattan's top corporate lawyers (Gabriel Macht) sets out to recruit a new hotshot associate and hires the only guy that impresses him - a brilliant but unmotivated college dropout (Patrick J. Adams). Though he isn't actually a lawyer, this legal prodigy has the book smarts of a Harvard law grad and the street smarts of a hustler. However, in order to serve justice and save their jobs, both these unconventional thinkers must continue the charade.I hate to sound like a broken record but this show has proved to me one again that it’s gonna continue to keep getting better and better. I’m still getting a kick out of watching Harvey and Mike’s partnership and bromance grow, but was also very glad to see a bit more from Jessica in this one. Jessica’s ex-husband hires the firm to represent him in a case and when she assigns it to Harvey, there was some definite tension between the two – especially after Harveydiscovers some secrets about the man. What really threw me for a loop in this storyline was the fact that Quinton turned out to have ALS himself. It was a nice little twist that also brought everything to an emotional level that I didn’t expect.

Harvey defends a figure from Jessica's past, making it difficult for Jessica to detach herself from the case. Elsewhere, Mike is eager to take on a pro bono case but soon learns it won't be an easy win.The biggest thing to come out of the episode was Gina Torres finally getting more to do, as we learn of Jessica's past and her ex-husband. It's not particularly interesting, but it drove the plot forward while providing backstory. I'm not sure if too many people care at this point, but when Mike asks out Rachel on a date for real, she turns him down, telling him she doesn't date anyone in the office.
